Do you question…

  • whether Jesus even exists?
  • if it’s possible to live a faithful life?
  • if anything really matters?

Do you doubt…

  • God’s Word?
  • God’s relevance?
  • God’s power?
  • that if God exists, He could possibly love you?

Do you feel like…

  • everyone is basically good, so what’s the big deal?
  • Everyone goes to heaven, regardless of their religion
  • you’re not lost, you know right where you are!
  • there’s really nothing to be saved from!

Do you believe…

  • there’s no such thing as God
  • all religions are essentially the same
  • Jesus was a good man and maybe a prophet or teacher, but certainly not God
  • the Bible is full of myths and stories, like the ancient Greek and Roman mythology

Were you ever told…

  • “just believe”
  • that you have no right to question God
  • there’s no good answer to your questions

If so…

You’re not alone!

Many people have questions or doubts about matters of faith. Sometimes they’ve even asked a parent, teacher, mentor or pastor about them, and for whatever reason, a good answer was not received (or worse, a wrong one was given). Other folks never ask - either not being sure they should, or perhaps choosing their own conclusions.

Often this process leaves more questions, assumptions, and even anger or sadness. Sometimes, a person may remain in church even though they feel totally disconnected from God. Sometimes it results in a heart that ONCE walked with Jesus now walking far from Him - but still rationalizing that things will be all right. Sometimes it results in a person choosing an alternate way to express their spiritual nature.

Flowing River is a safe place to ask hard questions. When God first started prompting us to plant a church, we asked Him what sort of church it should be… and we heard loud and clear that He wants it to be a place where “the hard stuff” can be asked and answered from His Word.

We can’t pretend we’ll have every answer to every question.

We can assure you that we know the One who has answers.

We can’t assure you that you’ll like the answers you get.

Sometimes, hard questions have hard answers.

We can promise that regardless of who you are, where you’ve been, and what your circumstances are, God loves you. We can also promise that we’ll walk with you through your questioning and seeking, without judgment, accusation, or rejection.

If you’ve got questions, let us know. You can either give us a call or post your question online. We’re going to have informal gatherings here at the house where folks can come and discuss matters of faith and heart. We could also meet with you at your home, or perhaps at Kaffini’s in Randleman. You are also welcome to come on Tuesday or Sunday, but be aware that we may not be able to answer your questions “right then” - we will make time to do so, though!
